I provide both short-term and long-term counselling. The number and frequency of sessions depends on multiple factors, including the depth and complexity of your concerns, your goals and your preferences.
Short-term counselling is typically 6-10 sessions, weekly or fortnightly.
It is a good fit for those seeking focused help for a specific, well-defined issue and immediate symptom relief
(e.g, reduced anxiety, depression, distress), and also for individuals who cannot commit to long-term therapy but wish to gain insight and
tools.
Interventions can include developing practical coping and self-regulation strategies, unpacking and exploring emotions to increase emotional awareness and insight, and identifying core relational patterns.
Long-term psychotherapy occurs over a year or more, with regular sessions held weekly or more frequently.
It is a good fit for those dealing with deep-rooted and long-standing emotional difficulties who wish to create meaningful and lasting changes.
I use the Conversational Model of psychotherapy, which is based on the idea that our sense of self is shaped by our early relationships, and that healing occurs when we feel heard, understood, and emotionally connected. Therapy is a warm and gentle process involving conversations supporting emotional growth, self-awareness, and connection. Working at your own pace, together we explore your emotions and make sense of your experiences, gradually fostering a stronger and more unified sense of self.
